Uses For Duct Tape

We have a beloved relative who will put Duct Tape on just about anything, if it’s broken, cracked, or chipped he puts Duct Tape on it. It has become a bit of a family joke, since he once fixed leaking pipes with duct tape. There are many uses for duct tape that I will share with you here.

We have a beloved relative who will put Duct Tape on just about anything, if it’s broken, cracked, or chipped he puts Duct Tape on it. It has become a bit of a family joke, since he once fixed leaking pipes with duct tape,  not the ideal way to fix them but he put enough on them that it actually held for years.  When he said he fixed them nobody knew he had only covered them with Duct tape.

Duct tape does in fact have many uses and I will share some of them with you.

My daughter's ex-boyfriend made her a wallet for Christmas using duct tape. Here are some detailed instructions on how to do that: http://www.ehow.com/how_8133770_make-girls-duct-tape-wallet.html

Seal up ripped pants in a jiffy.  If you split your pants you can tape them up quickly to avoid anyone seeing your drawers underneath or something even more embarrassing if you are going commando.  Of course the tape itself is embarrassing, but I guess you have to choose which is worse.

Fix a baby diaper with Duct tape.  Diapers are really expensive and when you accidently rip off one of the tags it can be frustrating because that means wasting a diaper.  Instead get out your Duct tape and clothes that diaper up with it instead of throwing it out.

Quick fix for a leaky hose: If your hose has sprung a leak and you need it right away, cover the leak with Duct tape, this is not a permanent solution it will come off, but it could get you through one last use.

Fix your head phones.  If you have cracked your plastic head phones in half with a little assistance you can put them back together with duct tape.

Hold on a rear view mirror.  If you accidently knocked your rear view mirror off somehow you can Duct tape it back on until you can get it fixed.

If you have a beloved old book that is falling apart you can save it by binding it back together using duct tape.

Fix a bathing suit strap in a pinch, or tighten loose ones,

Fix a broken sandal temporarily,

Cover a cast with a plastic grocery bag so it does not get wet.

Use for Driveway play to create courts or boundaries.

Use it to seal up holes in upholstery, not pretty but can do until you can afford a replacement.  Duct tape comes in all kinds of colors and patterns now so you can try your best to make it as un-noticeable as possible.

Use the reflective silver kind as a reflector on the back of your shirt if you are out running or walking at night.

Repair a shoe temporarily.  You will of course have to get new ones but Duct tape will work in a pinch until you can.
